Appointment with Dr. Mehl - Neurologist

I don't really have much to say about this appointment. It's not really related to Jesse's cranio, so I didn't really prepare for it.

My pediatrician was concerned because it is really hard to get Jesse's attention. I can say his name or talk to him over and over and he will not turn towards me. I wasn't that worried because turning toward sounds is a milestone that can happen between 4-6 months. I actually was not going to take him, but my pediatrician called because the neurologist's office let her know that I had declined the referral and she talked me into going.

As I thought, Jesse is just fine. The doctor played with him a bit, made sure he was tracking objects well, smiling and cooing like he should. Dr. Mehl said he didn't see anything to be concerned about, but he was curious as to what Dr. Cohen would say about the cranio during my appointment on Wed., so he gave me his phone number and asked that I call him and let him know. He also wanted me to bring him back in for a follow up in 2-3 months.

Tomorrow is the big appointment with the local craniofacial surgeon, Dr. Cohen. I really hope I am comfortable with him as it will be so much easier to have the surgery here in San Diego than to travel to LA for it. I know I would feel comfortable with Jesse having his surgery at UCLA though. I really did like the surgeons there and UCLA is well known for their medical programs.
