Still Reverting

I'm so sad to see how fast Jesse's head is reverting after the helmet was taken off. With the speed in which it is happening, I have to say that I am almost 100% sure that he will need another surgery. I don't understand why his head wants to grow the wrong way even after the metopic suture has been released. I just hate to think that he will have to go through another surgery.

Here's a new photo. This was taken last night.

His forehead just continues to narrow. I asked Dr. Fearon if a second surgery would be purely cosmetic, and this is what he had to say:
I would not consider this operation cosmetic. Cosmetic surgery is done on someone with a normal appearance who wants to see enhancements. This would be reconstruction, to restore normal appearance. I also believe that the effects that an abnormal appearance have on the underlying brain probably correlate with how abnormal things look on the outside. Studies have shown that when the forehead is narrow, there can be reduced blood flow going to the sides of the frontal lobes.
I haven't met Dr. Fearon yet, but I have to say that he has been so helpful in answering all my questions via email. I'm looking forward to speaking with him in January and figuring out a plan for Jesse. I have so many questions about why this has happened and how he can keep it from happening again.
